This $599.99 Acer Nvidia GeForce RTX gaming laptop deal is genuinely incredible

If you’ve been holding out for a budget gaming laptop bargain, then you’re going to want to seize this Acer gaming laptop deal from Best Buy while you still can. Right now, you can get an Acer Nitro V machine, complete with an Nvidia GeForce RTX GPU and AMD Ryzen 5 CPU, for just $599.99, saving you $350 on the usual price.

That’s an outstanding deal for the specs on offer and, as we found in our Acer Nitro V review, this machine already offers decent value at its MSRP, thanks to its crisp, smooth screen and elegant design. The specs of this Acer laptop we reviewed are slightly different from those in the one on offer, but it’s still a fantastic buy for the money.

Let’s start with the GPU, which is an Nvidia GeForce RTX 4050. This is the entry-level option in Nvidia’s Ada lineup, with 2,560 CUDA cores and 6GB of GDDR6 VRAM, but that’s fine for running most games at decent settings on the 15.6-inch 1080p screen, and it’s a massive step up from the integrated graphics systems you usually get in laptops at this price.

This GPU also supports Nvidia DLSS 3 with Frame Generation, which uses AI to insert an extra frame between each pair of frames to give your frame rates a boost. We’ve found it works remarkably well in practice and enables you to get games running at much faster frame rates, as long as they support the tech.

We’re also really pleased to see 16GB of RAM in this budget gaming laptop, especially when so many affordable laptops still struggle with just 8GB. If there’s one disappointment, it’s the 512GB SSD, which will only give you room to install two or three big games simultaneously, but you can’t have everything for $599.99, and the M.2 SSD can also be swapped out for a larger one if you want to upgrade to one of the best gaming SSD options in the future.

Even the CPU is a solid choice, even if it doesn’t use the latest architecture. Despite the ‘7’ in its model number, the AMD Ryzen 5 7535HS is based on the older Zen 3+ architecture rather than the newer Zen 4 and Zen 5 architectures, but it’s still plenty powerful enough for a budget machine, with six cores and a maximum boost clock of 4.55GHz.

Not only all of that, but the screen also has a quick 144Hz refresh rate, making for smooth visuals if you’re running graphically undemanding games at up to 144fps.
