It looks as though AMD Radeon RX 9070 XT pre-orders could start later than initial reports suggested. A new leak from a US retailer points to a late March date for this new AMD graphics card to become available for pre-orders.
AMD has already confirmed that the Radeon RX 9070 XT release date will be in March, but hasn’t provided a specific day for the launch yet. While this new Radeon GPU isn’t expected to be the best graphics card out there when it launches, it’s still expected to serve as a strong competitor against mid-tier Nvidia RTX 50-series cards such as the RTX 5070, with hopefully a competitive price tag to match.
As with the last RX 9070 XT pre-order rumor, this data was revealed via the B&H retail site. Four models of Asus-branded RX 9070 and RX 9070 XT cards are now listed with a new pre-order time and date of 9am on Sunday, March 23. That’s a week before the end of the month, and suggests that the final 9070 XT launch will be right at the end of Q1 2025.
No other information, including specs or photos, is listed for any of the four cards listed on the B&H website, although we managed to get our hands on several AMD Radeon RX 9070 XT graphics cards at CES, including the Asus TUF Gaming variant of the RX 9070 XT.
Despite announcing the new card at CES 2025 earlier this month, AMD hasn’t said too much about these new graphics cards just yet. It hasn’t yet released the official AMD Radeon RX 9070 specs to the public, either. As always with leaks and rumors, bear in mind that this date hasn’t been officially confirmed by AMD either, so take it all with a grain of salt, and keep a close eye on future updates.
In the meantime, check out our Nvidia GeForce RTX 5090 review for our first, real-world testing of a next-gen graphics card, which is likely to be a long way in front of the performance of AMD’s next GPUs.
