Avowed and Pirate Yakuza players need this Intel Arc gaming GPU driver

-

Intel just dropped a new graphics driver to get players ready for Avowed and Like A Dragon: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii. This driver also addresses some of the major issues that have been plaguing both integrated and dedicated Intel GPUs across gaming and productivity.

You can read our Arc B580 review roundup to see how Intelβ€˜s latest budget gaming GPU stacks up against the competition. While it won’t be coming for Nvidia’s crown as the maker of the best graphics cards around, it’s providing some stiff competition for gamers with less cash to splash.

The highlights of Intel Arc GPU graphics driver 101.6559 are game support for Avowed and Like A Dragon: Pirate Yakuza on Intel Arc A and B series GPUs. In the case of Pirate Yakuza, support is also added for Intel Core Ultra chips with Arc iGPUs.

Among the issues fixed in this driver update, performance in Senua’s Sacrifice: Hellblade II is improved on Intel Arc B-series GPUs, with an expected 5.9% uplift in frame rate at 1080p with the High graphical preset.

If you own an Intel Arc A-series GPU or Intel Core Ultra 1 or 2 CPU, you may have noticed flickering when trying to use Adobe After Effects, this has also been fixed in the update.

As is the case with any Intel Arc driver update, a list of known issues is published and these are the headlines among the 32 listed issues:

  • Cyberlink Power Director experiencing tearing and lag in the preview window across Intel Arc A and B-series GPUs as well as Intel Core Ultra 1 and 2 products.
  • Terraria (DX9) may experience flickering when in full-screen mode (Intel Arc B GPUs).
  • Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 may show darker-than-expected shadows in campaign scenarios (Intel Arc A GPUs).
  • Avowed (DX12) may experience application instability when disabling Ray Tracing and performing a game restart (Intel Core Ultra 2 w/ Arc iGPU).
  • FPS Limiter in Intel Graphics Software may not work with VSync on and Low Latency Mode enabled.
  • Intel Graphics Software may not uninstall properly when using Add or Remove Programs in Windows.
