It sounds like a variety of new Apple products are preparing to launch. Thatβs according to Bloombergβs Mark Gurman, who has shared more details tonight about what to expect and when.
According to Mark Gurman, Apple is expected to make some sort of an announcement tomorrow, Wednesday, February 12, 2025. My guess is iPad 11 with Apple Intelligence, although iOS 18.4 beta with the upgraded version of Siri would be very welcome.Separately, Apple is expected to announce the iPhone SE by next week.
And if all that wasnβt enough, Apple Vision Pro could have some sort of news coming for it as well. Perhaps an upgrade to the Apple M5 chip? Apple has not announced any products with the M5 chip yet, however, so weβll have to wait and see.
The biggest opportunity for Apple Vision Pro, aside from price and weight, is that it runs on Appleβs second generation M-series processor and doesnβt support Apple Intelligence.
Itβs possible, however, that Apple could bring Apple Intelligence to the existing Apple Vision Pro without refreshing the hardware. The hardware only just turned a year old in the United States, and it has been arriving in markets over the last 12 months.
Another possibility is announcing PlayStation VR controller support for Vision Pro. Apple already supports PS5 controllers, and Gurman has reported on planned VR controller support.
Then thereβs the as-of-yet unannounced and unreleased M4 MacBook Air. Gurman expects Apple to ship the fourth generation Apple Silicon MacBook Air sometime over the next few weeks. Skipping the M4 and going straight to the M5 sure would be nice though.
Here is how he describes what to expect:
New iPhone SE is still imminent and should be announced by next week, when the company is holding product briefings. Tomorrow thereβs a smaller announcement. For Friday, Apple Vision Pro reps are reaching out to press about an announcement to come. M4 MacBook Air within weeks.
Even if an entry-level iPhone SE isnβt your thing, there certainly is a lot of Apple product releases expected over the next few weeks.
Earlier today, Beats, which is owned by Apple, announced the second generation of Powerbeatsy Pro sports headphones. Check out our review for more information.
